The first rehearsal of the 2026-2027 season will be on Monday, October 26th, 2026, 7:00pm at Farmington High School. We will rehearse about an hour and a half and make announcements about the season. The first concert of the season is scheduled for Saturday, December 12th, 2026 at 7:30pm.

We need to find one person to volunteer for the board to fill an unexpected vacancy. Check https://board.arkansaswinds.org for additional information about board positions. The Arkansas Winds Community Concert Band will present the concert "Winter Serenade" at 7:00pm on Saturday, February 28th, 2026. The concert will be held at the Tonya McCustain Performing Arts Center, Farmington High School, 12399 AR Highway 170, Farmington, Arkansas. The concert will include works by Percy Grainger, Pavel Tschesnokoff, George Gerswhin and others.

The Arkansas Winds Community Concert Band will present the concert "Classics and Carols" in the "Tonya McCustian Performing Arts Center", Farmington High School, 12399 AR-170, Farmington, Arkansas on Saturday, December 13th at 7:30pm.

The concert will include classics "Second Suite in F" and "Eighth Candle", newly composed holiday compositions like "Toboggan" and "Winter's Journey", as well as classic holiday compositions "Christmas Festival", "Sleigh Ride" and others.

Admission is free and the public is invited.

Reminder the rehearsal on Monday, 12/8/2025 will be on the stage in the auditorium. We will need to move all chairs, stands, and percussion equipment to the stage and back to the band room after the rehearsal. It would be helpful to have as many people as possible to assist. Do not take a percussion equipment away until a member of the percussion section has indicated it is ready to be moved.

1) Check schedule.arkansaswinds.org on the time to be seated for the warmup.
2) We will stand when the conductor comes out for the concert and after intermission.
3) Do not bring down your instruments at the end of the piece until the conductor brings down their arms.
4) Wait for applause to die down to prepare for the next piece.
5) Keep an eye on the conductor so you can stand if the conductor asks a soloist, section, or band to stand.
6) Anytime we stand, turn to face the audience.

It appears the precipitation has stopped, and the temperatures are going to hover around 32 degrees.  I'm going to suggest we go ahead with rehearsal this evening but urge everyone to use your judgement for your situation.  If you decide not to attend, it would be helpful for you to send an email to arkansaswinds@gmail.com so we are aware you will not be there.
